Harald L and XL stove description
The heat storing content of the stoves
The Harald L and XL stoves are modular firplaces, which elements or modules are made of Croval mass. Croval is a by-product of the Finnish stainless steel manufacturer Outokumpu, which is a very efficient and modern material for the production of heat-storing stoves and fireplaces. The melting point of this material is 1700 C, it is used by Finnish manufacturers Linnatuli and Ahjusepad. Among Estonian manufacturers, crovalit is used by Ahja company.
Thanks to our unique casting technology, we have been able to achieve excellent quality for the modules. We have tested our casting recipe and found an effective mixture with the best ingredients, the main one being croval, to store and distribute heat in the right balance. The inner and outer modules of the stoves have an air gap of 10 mm on each side.
Stove hearth
The stove hearth is made of Wolfshöher’s best fireclay, which contains ten (10) different clays. For the fireclay we have cut slits on three sides, which direct the preheated air behind the hearth wall to the correct burning height. On top of the hearth, we use Skamol vermiculite, which reflects heat back to the hearth and raising even more the temperature of hearth, which burns off most of the particulate matter in the flue gas. Since the hearth has to suffer the high heat the most, it is important that the pieces of the hearth can be replaced later. For our stoves it is possible. In addition to the combustion air coming from the sides, the stove also draws air through the ash grate, where hot coals heat up the air.
Furnace flues and dampers
Inside the stove are five flues, three of which are ascending and two descending. The flue gases from the stove rise from the middle of the furnace and, when the operating damper (summer damper, direct damper) is in the open position, they exit from the oven through the winter damper into the chimney. When the operating damper is closed, the hot flue gases turn down the descending flues (left and right) and rise from the bottom up the rising flues (also on the left and left). The high temperature of almost 800 °C has become a temperature of about 100 degrees, which goes into the chimney after the heat is stored in the flues.
Extra air for burning from outside
The stove can be connected separately to outdoor air. The use of outdoor air is necessary in new residential buildings with forced ventilation. See drawing.
Finishing
The Harald L and XL stoves are covered with Italian clinker, which bears the heat perfectly. The clincer is slightly embossed and each piece has a different pattern. The end result reminds flint and soapstone stoves.
The height, finish and equipment of the ovens can be changed.
Installation of the fireplace takes 2-4 days. Fireplace delivery time: 2-6 weeks!
It is also possible to add a bread oven.
